Costa Rica: The Adventure Begins

Paul and I just got back from Costa Rica for the Holidays. Paul went down on the 17th and then I met up with him on the 22nd. That meant me traveling alone for the first time to not only a different state, but a different country. I was a little worried knowing I had to take three separate flights and that my Spanish is still worse than any first grader. But, to my surprise, it was so relaxing and everything went so smoothly.

Here I am on the third and final flight. I have small talk with the gentleman sitting next to me, when I discovered he too is meeting his family. The only difference is mine was picking me up at the airport (which is a landing strip in the middle of a palm plantation) and he was suppost to meet his in Domincal. He told me he was going to grab a cab to the 45k away town. I laughed and told him he would be waiting for awhile. Knowing this man had no idea what country he was in and how things are done, or not done, I told him we would give him a ride, since we would pass right through it.

We took pictures of each other coming off the plane and then headed out.

After stopping through Dominical, Paul rushed us to our favorite beach to catch the sunset.

It was great reconnecting with Paul and Shadow. We just acted like love sick fools and ran around frolicking in the sunset and rolling around on the beach.

Paul made Shadow sit on this log and made him stay there for a game.

Such a good little boy.

What a perfect way to start off the Holidays.

...I have so much more to share. Pauls family came in for several days and we had a great time and tried out zip-lining! Will share more soon.

Love, Sarah
