Independence Day

We hung up our City Slicker clothes and headed out to the country for the 4th of July.  Two of our favorite friends asked us to join them out at their family's house in Gainesville, TX.  The best party about being in the middle of nowhere is being able to shoot your own fireworks.  We headed to the store and started light, and then just kept piling them in the cart.

I love me some Tongans.
My alma mater gives them thanks for being State Champs on the football field (click here).

Paul is like a kid in the candy store when it comes to fireworks.

I have a feeling he looked a lot like this boy when he was a youngster.

We didn't stock up on fire extinguishers, but I could see that Ashley's mom was getting a little nervous about the amount of explosives we were purchasing.  I reassured her that Paul was an Eagle Scout and would put safety first.

Paul showed us his handy work after he got done placing the show out and attaching the fuses.

He timed out the show and taped down one long fuse so there's only one "light", then you get to sit back and enjoy the show.

Now, time to go eat and stuff our faces and wait for that sun to go down.

Love, Sarah

Ha I tried taking pictures but they didn't come out very well. We timed them and it lasted a full 8 minutes and Paul played music out of his car while they were going off!! :)
