We're Home!

WE'RE HOME!!!

So much to share and tell you about, but for right now I'm just glad to say we're home.

I've missed you.

Love, Sarah

P.S.  This picture was shot from the other side of the jungle facing our house.  So it goes... US, OUR HOME, and THE OSA PENINSULA.  I will never get over that!

...now off to get in the shower!

Costa Rica Mañana

I'm going to be in this exact spot tomorrow not only with Shadow, but my parents too!

Paul and Shadow are already down there getting everything ready for my parents big trip!!  I can't wait to introduce them to our guard and his family, our friends, and favorite spots and restaurants.  It's going to be a blast!

Oh and I'm going to try my hardest to stay away from all internet devices.  So hopefully you won't be hearing from me for awhile!

Mexican Cowboy

The other night I had literally 5 minutes to get dressed and do my hair and make-up.  I did what I always do when I'm in a pinch ...I go into my husbands closet.  I grabbed his shirt and tucked it into my gold Adriano Goldschmied pants and tied it off with my father-in-laws vintage scorpion bolo and Style Station western belt.

These pants are slightly inappropriately tight.  I respect in the Mexican culture that tighter is always better and to show off the curves.  I just give my mind-set a check when I think my butt is looking a little to round.

That night I didn't wear a stitch of make-up and slicked my wet hair back into a low tail.  I love the feeling of walking out the door and thinking you can either be looking a hot mess or pretty cool.  It's when you can't tell that makes it fun.

- Rebekah and I had fun taking these pictures.  But please respect the art and not touch it like I mistakenly did.  Sorry Nasher! -

Mia Moore

Just took pictures of the adorable Mia Moore for her first birthday.  We went to the park that her mother walked while in labor with Mia.  She's absolutely precious and smiled the whole time.

Her brother Maddox was so sweet and watched over her the whole time.

Mia had thrown her other matching red shoe out the car window while they were on the highway coming over.  We thought about shooting her barefoot, but isn't this a better story for later?

Scooter Day

Scooter is the coolest cat I know.  Everyone loves him and he's always happy.  I started thinking about his life and I think he has a great one.  My poor dogs in the other hand are not as lucky.

Every day Scooter starts it off by scratching his post, eating breakfast in his loft (click here for a tour), and then plays in the game room.

He then waits by the door to the office to go to work.

He checks the mail...

Files some papers away...

...and orders some new office needs.

He surveys the employees and makes sure they're doing their job...

and also let's them take cat pat breaks.

Scooter's not a sissy and doesn't like to be petted, but prefers patting.

Kevin then plays the make Scooter fly game AKA stop walking on the laptop game.

Once that's all done he takes the first shift for office security.

Then goes in for a better post...

and waits to bark at the mailman.

Scooter thanks you for taking a peek at his day.  It's the same everyday so come on by and say hi!

For Par!

Last month on our trip to Cape Cod we stayed at the Resort & Conference Center at Hyannis.  Our room had the Twin Brooks Golf Course as our patio.  One afternoon before dinner, Paul decided to play a quick 9-holes.  My back was hurting from all our walking, so I tagged along to be his caddy.

It was a gorgeous blue sky day and I couldn't help but snag a few pictures in-between all my great golf advice.

There's nothing quite like a beautiful day on the golf course.

Anniversary

Yesterday was our three year anniversary.  We've kept the tradition of going back to the Dallas World Aquarium for lunch and think back on our magical day.

Paul planned our whole wedding, even down to picking out the venue and flowers.  I was happy just to get married in his living room.  We asked his Dad to marry us and I ordered a $300 dress from online.  It was so special with just our closest friends and family.

Here's some pictures from our day.

I think we both cried our way through the ceremony.

I'm so lucky to go through life with Paul by my side.

Pinterest Pesto

Paul and I were at Whole Foods checking out when an employee came up to us and asked if we wanted a container full of pine nuts.  Someone had decided they no longer wanted them and they were going to have to throw them away since it was in a self-serve container.  That night my friend Jun suggested that I make pesto out of it.  So I did.

I'm not a cook, so I looked where else but on Pinterest for a recipe.  I found this one that then referred to this one.  I picked up the rest of the ingredients at Jimmy's and I even roasted my pine nuts.  It's a pretty big deal, since I've only used this food processor for granola bars before.  It's so monumental that I figured if I didn't share on the blog, then it didn't happen.

Now, I just gotta figure what to put it on.  Maybe drizzled over my watermelon-tomato salad?
